The American Advertising Federation of Northern Illinois presented its 2014 American Adverting Awards for advertising creative excellence Thursday night at the NIU Center. This annual awards presentation was attended individuals of the local advertising and media businesses and their clients.

Of the 38 entries received by the AAF Northern Illionis, 7 gold, 10 silver, and 12 bronze ADDY Awards were presented. Entries were judged based on creativity, originality and creative strategy.

Top awards of the evening went to the “Best of Print,” “Best of Electronic,” and “Best of Show” winners. Rick Wells, Ltd. garnered Best of Show for their “Red Brand Made in America” campaign done for their client, Keystone Steel & Wire Co.

GrahamSpencer captured the Best of Print for their “Rickpad,” self-promotion, and Best of Electronic for their “Misery Loves Company” web video for the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Judges also awarded Judge’s Choice Awards to GrahamSpencer for their “Day in the Life of Our Garbage Man” video done for Rock River Disposal as well as their website done for “Pizza-Napoletana,” and to SwedishAmerican Health System for their “Powerful Weapon” :30 TV ad.
