Jake started Rockford Buzz as a passion project in 2013 to spread positivity around the 815. With no experience in photography or video production, he started by running around the 815 with his cell phone. Shooting short videos and posting them to Facebook. In 2014 he left his career as an IT Project Manager to go full-time in business.

Since then he’s grown a successful media and branding company, shooting over 1,000 videos in the past 8 years. He’s grown his Facebook following to nearly 18,000 followers and is fast approaching 5,000 followers on Instagram, with nearly his entire audience comprised of 815 residents.

He was recently awarded the Better Business Bureau Torch Award and was recognized this year as one of the Rockford Chamber’s 40 Leaders Under 40. Jake is now on a mission of expanding his company and making Rockford the city that exports positivity across the country.
